Creative Project Management

Overview

Since 2011, I have managed a team of in-house creative professionals which included handling all aspects of creative project management. It is my responsibility to assign resourcing to projects, manage timelines, and report on the metrics to senior leadership.

Approach

I lead a weekly project meeting, the purpose of which is to review all current marketing projects. Participants include the complete Marketing Communications team and key stakeholders from other support teams within the company.

Most projects fit within our standard process flow, with a normal turnaround time of ten business days. There are always exceptions, and we adapt based on the scope of the project and the estimated ROI.

Tools

To track projects and handle proofing, our team utilizes Adobe Workfront. Our prior platform was Microsoft SharePoint, but it was vastly lacking in the appropriate features we needed to successful. I lead the implementation of Workfront and am the primary System Admin, managing all aspects of the tool on behalf of the Marketing team.

Creative work is accomplished using the Adobe Creative Cloud applications and sent for review via Workfront.
